The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman of Orlu Local Government Area, Imo State, Rt. Hon. Eugene Okorie (Onyeisiumumu), has expressed his gladness over the appointment of those who worked for PDP at the grassroots to represent their communities and wards in Orlu LGA administration.
The PDP Chieftain made the observation on Thursday at the council headquarters while on courtesy visit to the interim management Committee (IMC) chairman council Hqs Hon. Aloysuis Oluigbo, accompanied by his LGA Party executive and wards chairmen. After introducing members of his team to the LGA boss Okorie said: “Comfortably sited before you in the Major Eze Hall are LGA Exco and wards chairman of PDP, the ruling party and the biggest well-organized party in Africa. Our collective appreciation goes to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihidioha, for making us part of the power-stakeholders.
Onyeisiumumu after thanking the IMC Chairman for according his team a good reception urged Oluigbo to lead his committee to deliver the expected democracy dividends to the people: “Your appointment is a call to serve. You are representing our party, If you serve well, you will be rewarded with more power-position. But if we fail to serve our people well then, we’ll have ourselves to blame. Know that we’re with you and praying for your success. Whatever you and your team do, please remember to carry everybody along. Run an all-inclusive and open-door-policy. Concluding, Okorie warned members that give the party bad publicity in social media to desist or sanctioned: I have the permission of our party leaders to sanction any erring member henceforth he Pointed the way forward for the party to command easier followership thus:” Remember to carry the wards chairmen along when introducing any programme in their constituent communities Again, if for instance, ENTRACO should give the motorists information on parking and put sign-boards to indicate that and not just go about impounding people’s vehicles without providing space for them to park.”
Responding, Hon. Oluigbo thanked Hon. Okorie-led exco for their visit and well-thought out advice, promising to do the party proud: “Hon. Okorie, on behalf of the management team I welcome you to the council and thank you for finding time to visit and offering positive advice were part of the system and we know what to do to serve our people well in delivering the expected democracy dividends. All the concerned stakeholders should be carried along by our administration. The LGA comes first and whatever comes from the state, we’ll ensure, reaches the grassroots.
