The leader and Founder of the Divine Light Mission (DLM) One Love Family, Sat Guru Maharaj Ji, have faulted the Afenifere leader Pa Fasoranti, on the death of his daughter who was murdered by the dreaded Fulani herdsmen.
He gave the blame in a Press release titled SGMJJ/HSCU/NPRO/582019, The gruesome murder of Mrs. Olakunrin, nee Fasoranti and dated July 17, 2019 and availed the Saturday Nigerian Horn
The death of Mrs Olakunri has sparked off serious uproar and reaction not just in the South West but has reverberated the whole of Nigeria. As a reaction, former President Olusegun Obasanjo had to once again draw the attention of President Buhari to the level of insecurity in the country in an open letter.
.Maharaj Ji had blamed the death on the abandonment of the culture of the Yoruba man who he claimed provided some protection to the people and wondered how such a thing could happen to a Yoruba leader.
Full text of the release reads:
“The gruesome and dastardly murder of Mrs Olakunrin by herdsmen is a slap on the face of the Yoruba Nation and the Culture and Tradition of this nucleus race.
“Her murder goes a long way to prove that the Yoruba has almost abdicated from common sense and no longer who he was at the beginning of creation otherwise how on earth could the child of the Afenifere Leader be murdered in cold blood where we are the traditional owners of natural science, its mystics and metaphysics of life that deals with everyday life and the capacity to protect life and property of any believer of the Yoruba system.
‘How can such a thing happen to a Yoruba leader’s child when the Oracles and Deities are there to take care and all it takes is regular appeasement, adoration and celebrations, eating and dining, to lubricate the Alajobi spirit in us, that goes on in every home in Yoruba land to serve not only as a unifying force, but become the checks and balances in the human system before the invasion of Africa by the Oyinbos who cunningly used religion to overshadow the culture and tradition of the Yoruba and that has been the turning point from a leader race to slavery, disgrace, powerlessness and squalor.
“Much as we sympathize with the Afenifere Chieftain, he is the one to blame from disconnecting from our tradition and culture and not bringing his daughter up in the mainstream of Yoruba culture and tradition. There are millions of such Elders who are facing the same disconnection from our Orisas, now talking about failures and disappointments whereas our forefathers don’t fail, lose, nor die, they know how to turn into lions, elephants, etc., give dates they would re incarnate and through whom, whether directly through their children or any person of their choice.
“However, we want our dear Mr. President to wake up and quickly consider the establishment of State Police to stop this dangerous nomadic insanity that could not only totally tarnish his image as a statesman but turn the odds against his regime for being sectional and insensitive.
“The Yoruba Race, The Obas and Kings of the land, should wake up as a leader race to immediately order the teaching of Culture and Tradition before the children enter the secondary schools.
“It is important that we create Ministry for Culture and Tradition to be run by an approved First Class Oba in order to save millions of Yoruba children lost in religious rites and rituals and who do not know that Yoruba Culture which existed centuries before religion, deals and hinges on the practical philosophy of consciousness, which creates immortality, eternal and perfect life, is unparalleled in the history of the human race as the most perfect and positive way in human development.
“Any right thinking Yoruba man knows that a child of Oduduwa, Ogun, Sango, Oya, Ifa and other Yoruba Orishas dying through gun fire, accident, drowning, illness, etc, must have disconnected from our tradition and culture, either by refusing to appreciate and or ignoring their core values, which was deliberately covered by European during the invasion of Africa thousands of years ago.’’
