A stalwart of All Progressives Congress, APC, in southeast geopolitical zone of Nigeria, Chief Livinus Okwara has said that the immediate past governor of Imo state, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has destroyed the chances of the Igbos in producing president in 2023.
Okwara who spoke to newsmen shortly after his arrival in the state capital, lamented the bad performances of the former Imo governor whom he alleged ruled the state as if it was his private property.
The Ideato born industrialist noted that Okorocha’s misrule in Imo state will definitely make Nigerians to have fear in allowing any Igbo man to occupy the exalted seat of power.
The kinsman of the former Imo governor wondered if he Okorocha is an Igbo man, maintaining that his actions has actually made him reasons to believe that Okorocha is not from the southeast geopolitical zone of the country.
The businessman cum politician asserted that the people of the southeast geopolitical zone of the country has refused to demand for the zone to be given opportunity to lead the country in 2023, pointing out that their continuous silent is giving the other zone an undue advantage.
He therefore called on the Igbos to begin to make friends across the geopolitical zones in the country, saying that it is the only way forward to garner the support of the other zones.
Okwara expressed dissatisfaction with recent call by the Ohaneze youths who are calling for the return of the Igbos in Igboland, pointing out that the people of the southeast geopolitical zone of the will never run from their fatherland called Nigeria.
He noted that the people of the southeast geopolitical zone of the country are very essential to the development and progress of the country called Nigeria.
According to him, the people of the southeast geopolitical zone of the country should stop talking about secession because Nigeria cannot exist without the Igbo race.
He called on both traditional and religious leaders from the southeast geopolitical zone of the country to help in the public outcry that the Igboman will succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
The APC chieftain said that the Igbos in PDP and APC should come together and demand for the party ticket of their respective parties in 2023 and anything short of an Igboman not succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari will be unacceptable.
