The Imo State Government through the office of Special Assistant (S.A) to the Governor on Youth Affairs, Engr. Rex Okoro, has shown readiness to work in synergy with the Imo State police command to curb crime in the State.
Okoro gave the assurance during the Orlu zonal Security Summit organised by the Imo State Police Command in partnership with the office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youths Affairs held on Friday 12th July at Orlu Civic center.
He vowed to use his office to reduce the high rate of societal ills emanating from the youths like drug abuse, cultism and kidnapping and assured influencing various Youths Organizations in the State to que in the partnership with the police so as to proffer lasting solution in erring youths who may want to indulge in illicit acts.
The S.A stated that the Rebuild Imo administration of Chief Emeka Ihedioha is determined to end youths restiveness through the creation of job, empowerment, skillacquisition, provision of quality education and serene environment for business drive and investors, as these will help in bringing Imo youth into meaningful life engagement.
Okoro assured the Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Ladodo, that Imo youths under his watch will work tirelessly in ensuring that the expectations and objectives of police force are achieved in the State so as to usher in a crime free Imo State.
The programme was attended by the state commissioner of Police, Traditional rulers, members of the civil society and critical security stakeholders.
