The Interim Management Committee Chairman of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, Hon. Jonathan Onyeneke has given a stern warning to the workers of the council to desist from truancy, late coming to work and all forms of indiscipline, or face the wreath of his administration.
The chairman who made this known during an interactive session with the workers at the Aboh Mbaise local government headquarters hall last week, decried the rate of truancy and lateness to work by the workers
He reminded them that the official work hours remain 8am to 4pm and further charged them to ensure they sign the attendance register before 9am, or be queried.
He vowed not to compromise his stand on zero tolerance to indiscipline and assured that diligence and commitment to duty will be rewarded.
Onyeneke also informed the workers that with effect from this month of July, they shall receive their salaries in full while previous months owed would be gradually be settled, adding that their welfare remains the priority of his administration in line with the Rebuild Imo agenda of the state government under Governor Emeka Ihedioha.
Responding to the Head of Security, Mr Nwagwu’s request for more personnel, he disclosed that he had written to the governor for waiver ,expressing optimism that Governor Ihedioha will give the approval, and announced that he had given approval for the commencement of work on the felled fence at the headquarters.
Onyeneke equally promised to reconnect the council to the National grid and as well buy another generating set considering that the previous one was allegedly taken away by his predecessor.
In his remarks, the Chairman, National Union Of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Aboh Mbaise chapter, Comrade Eze Njoku, commended Onyeneke and his Local Government leadership team for their achievements so far and assured him of their unflinching and unalloyed support to enable them actualize their set goals.
